The Reiki Place

The Reiki Place is owned and operated by Mary Fielder. We respect your right to privacy. The Reiki Place is a safe place where you can rest assured that your right to privacy is fully respected and upheld. All information shared during a Reiki session or other consultation at The Reiki Place is in complete confidence. It is never shared with family members or any other person without your express permission. That includes any information that you discuss as well as any written information you provide on your client intake form.

Contact Me Form:

Data Collected: Name, phone number, email.

This information is transmitted over a secure https connection. We do not share this data or use it for any purpose other than to contact you for an appointment or send automated reminders about your appointment.

Mailing List:

Data Collected: Name, email.

This information is collected only when you check the box on your consult for, when you subscribe via our website subscription form or when you take a class. Your information is used for entering your name and email address into our email database for our monthly newsletter. We do not store any other information in the email database. We do not sell or share this information with any third party. Our newsletter platform is Mailchimp. They have their own privacy policy in place. Every email sent by Mailchimp has an unsubscribe option which is automatically implemented immediately upon your request. We cannot rescubscribe you after you have unsubscribed. You may also contact us and request to be removed.

Reiki Class Registration Form:

Data Collected: Name, email, phone number, full mailing address

This information is used to send you confirmation of your registration and provide you with more information about the class. When you register for a class this information is also entered into a database at the International Center for Reiki Training and it is stored in their central database. None of this data is shared with any outside sources for marketing or any other purpose other than the following:

When you register for a Reiki class, your name, address, phone, and email address are shared with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) and entered into their database. The ICRT has their own Privacy Policy and data protection mechanisms. This information is used to generate your certificate upon completion of the class. It is not shared with any third party. Your data is not shared with the ICRT if you sign up for a workshop or meeting other than a Reiki class.

Credit Card Processing:

Credit card information is processed by third party companies. This site uses Stripe and Paypal to collect your payment data over a secure connection using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption over Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure (HTTPS). Stripe and Paypal have their own privacy policies in place. We do not collect or store or even have access to your credit card information using this protocol and third party arrangement. In-person credit card processing is through Square. We do not collect or store any credit card information in any of our processing methods.

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. We have no control or oversight over how they store data.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

While The Reiki Place does not specifically use cookies, our host platform, Wix, may use cookies for a variety of reasons including:

To provide a great experience for website users.
To monitor and analyze the performance, operation and effectiveness of Wix's platform.
To ensure the website platform is secure and safe to use.

Note that Wix has its own privacy policy. Since I have no control over how they store and use data it is not covered by The Reiki Place Privacy Policy.

Communication with Site Visitors

If you contact me using my site’s contact me form, class registration form, or via email, I will respond using email. This may be the Wix platform email or my business email. My email address is mary@thereikiplace.us and is hosted by gmail.

Withdrawing Consent

To unsubscribe emails use the unsubscribe feature provided with the newsletter. You may also contact me directly and request removal. If you are registering for a class and do not wish to have your data stored with the ICRT please contact me when you register. If have taken a class and your information is already stored with the ICRT you must contact them directly to have your information removed. We do not store any other information.

We reserve the right to update this policy at any time. Any revisions made will be effective immediately unless otherwise stated.
